WoF / CoF

Never miss a Warrant of Fitness or Certificate of Fitness again. We track it, remind you, and help you book in with a trusted provider.

What it covers.

Your vehicle needs a Warrant of Fitness (or Certificate of Fitness, for commercial or heavier vehicles) to stay road-legal in New Zealand. Movogo takes the admin off your plate so you never risk driving with an expired WOF by accident.

We keep track of when your current WOF expires, send you a reminder two weeks beforehand, and a voucher for the check with a trusted provider near you. The cost of the inspection is spread across your regular Movogo payment, so there's no lump sum at WOF time.

No more last-minute shocks when you finally make out the faded date on the WOF sticker on your windscreen.

How it works.

  1. Add it to your plan.
Include WoF / CoF when you build your estimate on the homepage. We take it from there.
  2. We track your dates.
Using your vehicle's details we know when your WOF or CoF is due, down to the day.
  3. Two weeks out, we let you know.
We send you a reminder and a voucher for the inspection. Your chosen provider gets notified too, so they're expecting you. You book in with them direct.
  4. You pay it off in the lead-up.
Your regular contribution is sized so the WOF is fully funded by the time it's due. The closer your next WOF, the higher the contribution. After that first one, your amount settles into a steady rate. We confirm your exact figure when you sign up.

Who we work with.

Movogo partners with VTNZ, New Zealand's largest vehicle inspection provider. Your voucher can be redeemed at any VTNZ station around the country. Participating partner stations accept Movogo vouchers too, so there's usually somewhere close to you.

Questions people ask.

What's the difference between a WOF and a CoF?

A Warrant of Fitness (WOF) is required for most light vehicles (cars, light vans, motorbikes up to 3,500kg). A Certificate of Fitness (CoF) is for heavier vehicles (trucks, buses, trailers over 3,500kg, and vehicles used for hire). Movogo handles either, based on what your vehicle needs

What happens if my car fails the inspection?

The inspection itself is covered. If your vehicle needs work to pass, that's separate from WoF / CoF. If you also have Movogo's Servicing & Repairs product, we help you get the work done and spread the cost. If not, we'll help you figure out how to proceed.

How is my weekly amount calculated?

Your weekly contribution is sized to fully fund your next WOF by the time it's due. If your current WOF expires in 12 months, the weekly amount is smaller. If it expires in three months, the weekly amount is higher because we need to collect the full inspection cost in less time. From your second WOF onwards the amount settles into a steady rate. We confirm your exact figure when you sign up.

Can I use a different testing provider, not VTNZ?

Yes. Your voucher is accepted at any VTNZ station and at participating partner stations. If you've got a specific mechanic or testing station in mind, flick us a message and we'll see if we can get your voucher accepted there.

What if I just bought a car that already has a valid WOF?

We'll pick up from when your current WOF expires. You only start contributing towards the next inspection, not towards one that's already been done.
